For my birthday in 2019, my boyfriend at the time (husband now!) and I drove down to Nashville, TN. I had never been to Nashville before and wanted to check out this large Midwestern city! After a four and a half hour drive, we made it to our destination. Since my birthday is in early April, the March Madness men’s college basketball games usually occur on or near my birthday. I love watching college basketball, so after dinner at Hattie B’s Hot Chicken, we watched some basketball games in our hotel room. Hattie B’s was recommended to us by my friend who had lived several years in Nashville. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to visit her. We really liked Hattie B’s, and we especially liked their cole slaw! There was also a really long line, and we had to wait several minutes, but it was thankfully worth the wait!

The next day, we drove downtown and walked on the pedestrian bridge over the Cumberland River. We walked around Broadway that had a lot of neon signs, bars, and live music, but we didn’t go inside any, mostly because it was the morning! We also walked to see the Music City Walk of Fame. Then, we went to Goo Goo Clusters to taste the most amazing chocolate candy goodness ever! Its claim to fame is that it is America’s first combination candy bar! Invented in 1912, it is a round disk of chocolate, caramel, marshmallow, and peanuts! It is so good! Even my boyfriend liked it! And that’s a compliment because he normally only likes solid chocolate. He doesn’t really like chocolate combined with other ingredients, but he liked the Goo Goo Cluster! As I am writing about it, I am now craving this chocolate concoction goodness! I wonder if they ship?

After eating dessert, we went to eat lunch! I love going to aquariums to see fish, and I found a restaurant in a mall in Nashville called Aquarium Restaurant! I thought it would also be a bit ironic to eat seafood while looking at seafood floating and swimming around! I was also treated to a birthday dessert after eating shrimp. To get to the restaurant, you had to walk through an aquarium shaped like a tunnel so fish would swim above you! It was cool to be surrounded by pretty fish and sea creatures. I absolutely loved it!
