Travel Conundrum: Free Flights or Free Hotel Stays for Life?

I recently saw a poll that Nomadic Matt posted on his Facebook page. It asked people to select which they would rather have: free flights for life or free hotel stays for life. I chose free flights for life, and at the time that I voted, a majority of people agreed with me. Which would you choose?

I think free flights for life would give you more savings than free hotel stays for life. Flights typically cost a lot more than hotel stays. Also, it doesn’t specify what types of seats, so I would assume it meant first class seats rather than economy seats. Also, with free flights for life, you could go where ever you wanted to go, even if it meant going on small planes to rural airports, which can sometimes cost more than common flights to bigger cities. Overall, I think free flights for life would be more cost effective and better than free hotel stays for life. What are your thoughts?
